What is an RMSc - reflex mini sight compact?

RMSc is an abbreviation for “reflex mini sight compact” – that is, as the name suggests, an extremely small and compact red dot sight, used on various handguns, from full-size competition pistols to EDC handguns and Glock.

This Shield dot is small enough to fit on almost any gun, tough enough to withstand the harshest recoil, and light enough that oftentimes, you forget it is even there. The RMSc is remarkably similar to the RMS model but more compact, hence the “c” in the name. It is packed with all great features and made of similar materials as the RMS, but it comes in a smaller package.

The RMSc can be bought with a 4 MOA red dot, which is made for precise aiming, and the 8 MOA one, made for faster dot acquisition. RMSc has an aluminium body, weighs 16 g, and has a CR2032 battery installed.

Does the Shield RMSc turn off?

When it comes to the Shield RMSc, there is no power button to turn the device on and off. The red dot automatically adapts to the surrounding lighting conditions, and Shield states it has an always-on battery life of 2 or 3 years (even 4 years when stored in a dark space).

After use, it is best to store the reflex mini sight compact somewhere dark or put a cover on it to preserve battery life.

What is the difference between RMSc and SMSc?

The RMSc was developed from the earlier SMSc (Shield mini sight). The SMSc has a polymer frame and costs 100 € less than the RMSc, which has an aluminium frame. The contents of the box remain the same, but the two still have some other differences, such as the weight.

SMSc weighs 12 g and RMSc 16 g. A 4 g difference is easily overlooked when carrying the dot. RMSc is a bit narrower than SMSc in width, as with aluminium, the thickness of the window frame is reduced.

Who makes the Shield RMSc?

Shield Sights is an English company from Dorset that manufactures red dots for pistols. The company was founded in the 1980s by John and Jeremy White. Mainly used for sports shooting, their optics are produced in the UK. The company is a creator of the most lightweight reflex red dot on the market.

Shield debunked the theory that alloys and glass in the construction of the dot are better than the use of plastic. As red dots get smaller, stronger, and easier to use, the users are beginning to acknowledge the benefits, and appreciate manufacturers that make such optics, one of them being Shield Sights.

Obratite pažnju na dvije verzije RMS serije proizvođača Shield Sights, naime RMS i RMSc (kompakt). RMSc, koji je širok 23 mm, malo je manji od običnog RMS-a, što ga čini estetski prikladnijim za pištolje s opcijom spremne optike.

In order to install a Shield Sights RMSc red dot sight on your Sig Sauer P229, you will either need an adapter plate which was included when you bought the handgun (if you have the Optics Ready (OR) model) or you will need to purchase a separate adapter for the classic handgun model (non OR). The width of this red dot sight is 23 mm. The RMSc model has a special notch in its housing (at the middle of the dot) for the purpose of co-witnessing.

Upravo sam dobio vid od Optics-Trade. Kupio sam RMSc za svoj Hellcat. Savršeno pristaje. Naručio sam komplet za montažu iz Springfielda za 5,00. Nisam isprobao vijke za pričvršćivanje koji ste dobili s nišanom. Nišan je u to vrijeme bio na zalihama, isporučen je tek nakon 2 tjedna. Točno tako mi je rečeno prilikom narudžbe. Odlična usluga optika-trgovine, sigurno ću opet kupiti.

Just received my sight from Optics-Trade. I bought the RMSc for my Hellcat. Fits perfectly. I did go ahead and order the mounting kit from Springfield for 5.00. I didn't try the mounting screws that came with the sight. The sight was in stock at the time, took right at 2 weeks for delivery. That's exactly what I was told upon ordering. Great service from optics-trade, I will definitely buy again.

Djeluje kao šarm Works like a charm

Volim ovaj proizvod. Dobro radi s mojim Springfield Hellcatom. Lijep i tanak. Služba za korisnike bila je fantastična. Slali su mi e-poruke gotovo svakih 10 dana obavještavajući me gdje smo s pošiljkom koja stiže u njihov pogon od proizvođača tijekom pandemije Covid-19. Ovo je više nego što je bilo koja američka tvrtka ikada učinila za mene. Po dolasku u njihov pogon, odmah su poslali i upozorili mene. Sve u svemu, fantastično iskustvo tijekom napornog vremena. Definitivno bih preporučio ovu tvrtku za vaše potrebe u optici, iako sam u početku malo oklijevao, ne svojom krivnjom. Zaista bih volio da mogu dobiti takvu uslugu od nekih američkih tvrtki s kojima sam imao posla u prošlosti.

Love this product. Works well with my Springfield Hellcat. Nice and slim. Customer service was fantastic. They sent me emails virtually every 10 days letting me know where we were at with the shipment arriving in their facility from the manufacturer during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is more than any US company has ever done for me. Upon arrival to their facility, they shipped immediately and alerted me as well. All in all, a fantastic experience during a trying time. I would definitely recommending this company for your optic needs, even though I was somewhat hesitant at first, through no fault but my own. I truly wish I could get that kind of service from some US companies I have dealt with in the past.
