The Mauser M98 Standard is a shorter version of the classic bolt-action hunting rifle introduced in 1998 and still in production. It features an enlarged receiver for added strength and durability, with a controlled round feed bolt action system. The bolt body includes three locking lugs, two at the front and one at the rear. The rifle has an internal spring box magazine that holds up to five standard cartridges and a detachable floorplate. It comes with a single-stage trigger preset at a pull weight of 1361g (3 lbs). The possible barrel lengths for the Mauser M98 Standard are 510 mm (20.1 inches) and 560 mm (22 inches). The receiver is drilled and tapped with four mounting holes: two at the front and two at the rear.

Mounting Instructions

Clean the rifle's receiver thoroughly with a cleaning fluid, such as acetone, to remove all stains, grease, and oil. Once the surface is clean and dry, verify that the screws fit both the rail and the receiver holes. Before mounting the rail, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid (278 or 648) to the screws, avoiding any contact with the mounting holes. Carefully clean any excess fluid around the rail using the cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque (up to 3 Nm/26.5 in-lbs).
