The Picatinny framework marks a notable enhancement over the traditional Weaver standard. Additionally, the slots on a Weaver rail are slimmer, measuring 3.8 mm, which permits scope mounts made for Weaver rails to be used on a Picatinny rail. About the Sauer 

J.P. Sauer & Sohn, established in 1751 in Suhl, Germany, is the oldest firearms manufacturer in Germany. Originally focused on military contracts, the company adapted to civilian markets in the late 19th century, introducing innovative hunting rifles. Post-WWI, it diversified, even producing typewriters, to survive economic hardships. After WWII, under Soviet occupation, it was stripped of its original name but was later restored, and in 1951, re-established in West Germany as a dedicated hunting rifles producer.

About the Sauer 100

The Sauer 100 is a push feed bolt-action repeater rifle, known for its affordability and precision. It features a forged-steel receiver with sloped sides and houses three locking lugs milled into the barrel breaches. The rifle includes a 3-position thumb-operated safety catch for ease of use. The 60-degree lift type bolt sits flush with the tang and receiver when closed. It is equipped with a smooth, adjustable single-stage trigger that can be fine-tuned using an Allen key. Barrel lengths are available in 560 mm (22 inches) and 620 mm (24 inches), depending on the calibre. The receiver has four mounting holes: two at the front and two at the rear.

Mounting Instructions

Clean the rifle's receiver thoroughly with a cleaning fluid, such as acetone, to remove all stains, grease, and oil. Once the surface is clean and dry, verify that the screws fit both the rail and the receiver holes. Before mounting the rail, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid (278 or 648) to the screws, avoiding any contact with the mounting holes. Carefully clean any excess fluid around the rail using the cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, tighten the screws to the appropriate torque (up to 3 Nm/26.5 in-lbs).
