The Hawke Vantage IR 3-9x40 is an illuminated riflescope platform available in seven configurations, each sharing the same core optical and mechanical specification while offering a reticle matched to a specific shooting application. The 3–9× magnification range with a 3× zoom ratio provides a field of view of 13 metres at 100 metres at minimum power and a 9× upper end for accurate shot placement at typical hunting and field distances.

The 40mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers consistent light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 13.3 mm at 3× supports image brightness in low-light conditions. Six of the seven variants measure 315 mm in length and weigh 430 g, with 90mm of eye relief.

The Slug Gun/Muzzleloader (14219) is a distinctly different optical configuration. The extended 110mm eye relief accommodates the recoil characteristics of slug guns and muzzleloaders, and the reticle is designed for the arc trajectory of slugs and large-calibre projectiles at reduced velocities. Adjustment travel is 85 MOA, field of view is 10.9 metres at 100 metres, and the overall length is 307 mm.

All variants feature reticle illumination in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment.
