Athlon Midas HMR 2.5-15x50 Gen2

• Illuminated Second Focal Plane Reticle: Available with the AHMC1, APLR-H2 or BDC 600A MOA reticle, each with illumination that keeps the aiming point clearly visible against dark backgrounds at dawn and dusk.
• Side Focus Parallax Adjustment: Parallax can be corrected from 10 yards (9.1 m) to infinity, providing a sharp image and eliminating aiming error at short range as well as at longer distances.
• Capped Turrets with 120 MOA Travel: 0.25 MOA clicks, 25 MOA per rotation and 120 MOA of total elevation and windage adjustment allow precise zeroing, while the caps protect the settings from accidental changes in the field.
• Durable One-Piece Construction: The one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum 30 mm tube is argon purged, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, so the riflescope stays reliable in rain, snow and sudden temperature changes.

ABOUT THE ATHLON MIDAS HMR GEN2 SERIES

The Athlon Midas HMR Gen2 series is the second generation of Athlon's Midas HMR hunting riflescope family. It is designed for hunters who need dependable performance in changing light and weather conditions – from stalking and high-seat hunting to shooting across open fields.

The series includes three magnification ranges: 2-12x42, 2.5-15x50 and 4-24x50. All models are built on a 30 mm main tube and use a second focal plane (SFP) reticle, which keeps the reticle the same size at every magnification setting, so it remains clearly visible even at the lowest power. Depending on the model, hunters can choose between MOA reticles such as the AHMC1, APLR-H2 and BDC 600A, or the MIL-based APRS-H2, all of them illuminated.

Fully multi-coated lenses provide a bright, high-contrast image with true colour rendition across the light spectrum. The one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube is argon purged – according to Athlon, argon's lower thermal conductivity compared to nitrogen improves fogproof performance. Every model in the series is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, making the Midas HMR Gen2 a practical choice for demanding, real-world hunting conditions.

ABOUT THE MODEL (ATHLON MIDAS HMR GEN2 2.5-15X50)

The Athlon Midas HMR Gen2 2.5-15x50 combines a 6× zoom ratio with a 50 mm objective lens, covering a wide range of hunting situations with a single riflescope. At 2.5×, the field of view of 13.5 m at 100 m makes it easy to pick up moving game quickly at close range, while 15× magnification allows precise shot placement on smaller targets and at longer distances. The large objective gathers plenty of light, which is an advantage during the first and last light of the day.

Three illuminated second focal plane reticles are available. The AHMC1 is a traditional hunting reticle with bold outer posts that step down to a fine crosshair and a floating illuminated centre dot, drawing the eye to the centre while obstructing as little of the target as possible. The APLR-H2 is a long-range MOA reticle with 2 MOA subtensions and a floating illuminated 1 MOA centre crosshair; with only 10 MOA of vertical stadia above the centre, it keeps the upper part of the image clear while offering reference marks for holdovers, wind correction, leads on moving game and ranging targets of known size. The BDC 600A ballistic reticle provides holdover points for popular cartridges such as .243 Win, .270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag, .308 Win and .300 Win Mag. Reticle subtensions and BDC holdovers are calibrated at 15×.

The capped turrets adjust in 0.25 MOA clicks with 25 MOA per rotation and offer 120 MOA of total elevation and windage travel. The side focus parallax adjustment, from 10 yards to infinity, can be operated without breaking the shooting position. An eye relief of 101 mm provides a comfortable margin on rifles with stronger recoil, and with a length of 351 mm and a weight of 567 g, the riflescope remains well suited to carrying in the field.
